Save the date! Thursday, November 17, 2016

The Fairmount Food Fight brings friends and neighbors together to celebrate the Fairmount community for a night of culinary excellence, live music, and exciting raffles. Guests are invited to sample dishes from our local Art Museum Area restaurants and vote for their favorites as we crown the annual champions, all while enjoying the surroundings of one of Philadelphia's most storied buildings, Founders Hall.

The Food Fight is not possible without the strong support from our community businesses. Here's how you can get involved:

Restaurants - Sign up today to share samples and compete for the crown. From best signature dish to best cocktail to best dessert, choose the category(ies) that make the most sense for you. Learn more here.

Shops & Services - An important part of the Food Fight is the annual raffle. Please consider donating an item or experience that can be used to raise the critical funds to continue our work. Learn more here.

Partners - Consider sponsoring the Food Fight to demonstrate your support of a healthy and vibrant Fairmount neighborhood. Learn more here.

Tickets for the Food Fight will go on sale soon at which point we'll reach out again to ask for your support in sharing this event with your customers and constituents. Thank you, as always, for your continued support!

Many businesses will then be able to get grants to pay for energy improvements in their restaurants and stores including for more energy efficient lighting, refrigeration, and heating cooling and ventilation equipment. Penn State at the Navy Yard is funded by the PA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) to train students to perform energy assessments in the Philadelphia region.  PADEP also reserved funds for Small Business Advantage grants to distribute to restaurants and food stores for energy retrofits installed as a result of these assessments, through June 2017. Restaurants and food stores interested in participating should read the attached flyer and complete this very short online survey.

Looking to attract delegates from #PHLDNC to your establishment this July? The DNC has been working with local business associations to ensure our local economy is both spotlighted and supported during the convention. To that end, here are two easy ways to get involved:

    1) #DNCDeals

#DNCDeals is a campaign that will help build excitement about exclusive offerings around town and create a fun and engaging atmosphere for Philadelphia and the Convention. Shops, restaurants, bars and attractions can offer unique and exclusive deals or specials on food, beverage, clothing and merchandise, attraction admission, and more. And #DNCDeals is for everyone to take advantage of – Convention attendees, media, residents and visitors.

Businesses can participate in #DNCDeals simply by using the hashtag on their social media accounts to spread the word about what they’re doing for DNC 2016 in Philadelphia. Businesses will be able to update or add more deals to #DNCDeals at any time once the program launches, on Wednesday, June 1, simply by using the #DNCDeals hashtag from your business’s social media account, e.g. Twitter, Instagram, etc.

To learn more about #DNCDeals, click here.

    2) Plan a Special Event

The DNC planning committee has reached out to us to inquire about local businesses offering any special events or promotions during or leading up to the Democratic National Convention, July 25-28, 2016.

If you are making any special arrangements please send and e-mail to with the details and we will share with the DNC to ensure they promote them with attendees during the event.
